Emmanuel Tecles

Self-taught, I started the photography in 2007 motivated by the desire to create and escape. Very quickly, my inspiration turned towards mysterious, enigmatic atmospheres. Exploration photography in 2009 was a revelation for me, rediscovering and exploring places built and abandoned by the Man, it becomes a passion due to my sensitivity with old stones and buildings. It's a subjective way of revisiting the world, navigating between allegory and thrill through the unusual, all bathed in fantastic and post-apocalyptic atmospheres.

My interest in history, architecture and culture led me to capture the aesthetics of abandoned places, despite of the decay a real presence remains. I become the privileged witness of a timeless show, a nostalgic and anachronistic walk ... The role of the photo takes on its full meaning here: a snapshot for remembrance, homage and memory. The sad fate of these abandoned places conceals a real poetry, my photography tries to get a fine decadence.
